A downloadable game

Descend is a 2D platformer created in Unity.  You play as an adventurer who has just awoken in a mysterious cave. You explore and descend through the terrain trying to find a way out, but the only direction to go is down. Parkour across platforms and avoid dangerous elements such as patrolling zombies, spikes, and pools of water, all of which will kill you and send you back to the start of the level. Can you survive long enough to escape?

In my original TTRPG, I interpreted 'descent' as slowly descending into madness but for this prototype, I decided to interpret it as a linear progression between levels.  I've always had an interest in platformers and pixel art and take a strong inspiration from Dead Cells, Terraria, LIMBO, and many more. In this game, I wanted to focus on setting the groundwork for a future puzzle platformer or even a dungeon crawler. Introducing multiple mechanics in these first two levels can hint at the elements that could be added to the later, more difficult levels.
